I had knee replacement surgery carried out by Sam Rajaratnam at the Cleveland Clinic. The whole process was incredibly professional. At the initial consultation the procedure was explained to me in great detail and I felt very comfortable going into the operation. Sam is supported by a wonderful team of professionals with a particular mention to Barry his anaesthetist. Of course the most important thing is the outcome which was a great success…….and pain free!!! I felt privileged to be looked after by Sam and his team. Lastly a thank you to everyone at the Cleveland Clinic who made my stay so comfortable. Thanks to all. .

I self funded in order to be treated by Sam, as I had heard very good things about him and had experienced problems with my first knee replacement. It was money well spent in every respect. He and his anaesthetist, Barry, inspire total confidence, and at 6 weeks post operative I am very happy indeed with the result. I received excellent care throughout my stay at the Horder centre and would wholeheartedly recommend Sam.

I had a knee replacement January 5th. I received the best care possible. My surgeon sorted out my pain relief perfectly and I am very grateful and pleased with the result. I have good movement and am looking forward to getting back to normal. He also recommended a physiotherapist with whom I am working. His anaesthetist was also very good and helpful. I would recommend himself and his team.

Just discharged from the Cleveland hospital UK after complete knee replacement by Mr Rajaratnam. Discharge after 3 nights stay . Quite remarkable . No pain at all - just a little discomfort after intense physio. This surgical team lead by Sam is just superb. His anaesthetist Barry Phillips was caring and compassionate, and has put a drug regimen together which is fantastic . I’m a retired pharmacist and was somewhat sceptical, but Barry has managed to formulate a cocktail which gives maximum benefit with hardly any side effects. Arranged home physio as suggested by Sam, and this is ideal . Also using the ice machine Sam suggests . Happy to speak to any prospective patients about my experience -so so positive . Ask Christine , his specialist nurse for my mobile. Choosing Sam and his team for this surgery will be one of your best decisions. David BARBANEL
